The Borg really is morphing from a big printing company to a video company. They have to survive in the information age. They realize that people can just get the information with electronic devices. Also the fact that it costs them a lot less overhead.

All these changes in the last five years are mindblowing
by truthseeker ini can't begin to count all the changes that have happened in the last five years.. i just read they're getting rid of the theocratic ministry school from cedar's blog.. i remember when they released the new theo school book back in 2001. how times have changed.. it's almost scary in a way what's happening.
there's barely any time to adapt to one change before another change comes along.. there's been more changes in the last five years than the previous 100 years.. i feel like there's some grand puppet master pulling his string.. what if the governing body are not really in charge but just give the impression they're in charge.
could there be someone else behind the scenes?.

Yup. I remember vividly 14 years ago the releasing of that new Theocratic School book. All of us were saying ''what a wonderful makeover the School is receiving'', a refreshing new look, etc, etc... In a way it's kind of disappointing comparing now to back then, it's hard to describe. It's just like a day and night difference, like a total 180 turn. -

by thedepressedsoul infirst off, i'd like to state that i currently have "privileges" in the congregation and volunteer at bethel on and off throughout the year.
that's as much information as i will currently give about myself.. starting off, i think something big is coming in the form of lawsuits and bad pr.
they seem to be batting down the hatches in preparation for something the last few years and even more so the last few months.

I really do think that ''strange instructions'' which ''may not seem strategic from a human standpoint'' is a way to pound into the rank and files' heads is about giving money hand over fist. If this rumour about shutting down branches all over with the exception of that ivory tower Warwick, could be demanding even more, but ''ready to obey''. Someone said the other day that they could spin it at we're right on the brink of the big A, sell everything your house, vehicles and send all money to the Borg, you no longer need it.
However, should nothing happen, the fall out would be immense.

me: i've been told that construction of the new branch has been stopped - is this true?.
debbie: no, it has not ceased, it's carrying on as normal - can i ask where you're calling from?.

How will many JW's react ?
by Phizzy ini did not believe i would see the demise of the wt in my lifetime, and maybe i will not, they may be able to ride out their present problems.. but how do you think this will affect the average, loyal, believing jw ?.
usually most things just wash over them, if there is a slight niggle, they use their well-worn way of explaining things to themselves as in "the end is near" or "jehovah knows best" etc etc.
but the huge sea-change in corporate policy that we see unfolding, all construction work stopped, except warwick and maybe their biggest project, chelmsford u.k. huge bethel layoffs, and the lifestyle of the remaining staff reduced to virtual slavery, more bethel closures, spiritual food reduced for the public as well as the r&f, and all of this being the opposite of what they have claimed was evidence of jehovah's blessing ???.

I'm betting the rank and file will just chalk up all these latest developments as ''we all must be ready to obey any instructions whether they seem strategic from a human standpoint or not''. They will just look at it as being obedient and won't even bat an eye to it. -

So I just finished reviewing Cedar's new post at jwsurvey. It does seem that many bethellites are disgruntled and disillusioned. Many people now have the consensus that ''are we getting ready to obey instructions that don't seem strategic from a standpoint?''
